Questo meeting nasce molti anni fa dall’incontro, avvenuto in Australia, tra lo psicoanalista di origine indiana Mr. Sarosh Forbes ed il collega Mr. Stanley Gold. Il loro scambio, particolarmente fruttuoso, li portò a progettare la possibilità di condividere ed allargare questa prima esperienza ad altri colleghi appartenenti ai loro rispettivi paesi di origine, l’India e l’Australia.
Fu così che la prima conferenza coinvolgente l’India e l’Australia si tenne nel 1991.
Successivamente Mr. Shmuel Ehrlich (Israele), in occasione di una sua ‘lettura’ in India, ebbe l’opportunità di conoscere diversi colleghi del luogo e di apprezzarne l’iniziativa. Da quel momento anche Israele si unì ai primi due. Fu così che si tenne a Bombay nel 1996 il primo incontro dell’attuale “India-Australia-Israel” bi-annual Psychoanalytic Conference.
Come si può intuire, anche già dalle sue origini, così squisitamente ‘personali’, per non dire intime, questo incontro ha voluto mantenere una veste informale, dove si privilegia lo scambio tra piccoli gruppi di lavoro e dove anche il numero dei partecipanti viene mantenuto piuttosto ridotto.
Nonostante ciò e nonostante sia nato coinvolgendo tre paesi specifici, l’ “India-Australia-Israel Meeting” è decisamente aperto anche a colleghi appartenenti ad altre aree geografiche (attualmente Germania, Svezia …), con il desiderio di trarre vantaggio da ogni forma di condivisione del pensiero.
Attualmente la lingua ufficiale della conferenza è l’inglese, ma non sono escluse per il futuro altre possibilità di traduzione.
